One simple global idea.

Visa is a major sponsor of FIFA. For World Cup 2010 they needed a simple idea that fans around the world could rally and participate in. We created a global social media program on Facebook and YouTube in over 5 languages and 9 countries based on “goooal” shouts.  The AKQA team created multiple seeding videos. Celebrities were engaged to create “goooal” shouts to help drive traffic and even more views to the channel.  CD/CW: Clark Morgan AD: Andy Slopsema Designers: Kenji Shimomura, Takashi Kawashima UX: Margo Hays

Join the global goooal shout.

Submit your goooal cheer into a never-ending carousel of videos from around the world. Check out celebrity goooal videos, as well as the most viewed. Or search your country.

Visa Match Planner: connecting fans around the globe.

One of the main goals of any marketing for Visa was to drive transactions. During the FIFA World Cup we wanted to create a utility on Facebook that not only helped fans connect with their friends to watch matches, but also created a way for them to discover venues and sports bars. More likely than not Visa would be top of mind when they go to pay.

Match Planner connected fans locally & globally.

The app let users create a custom FIFA World Cup calendar and easily schedule viewing events, find local viewing venues and sports bars and comment on the action with their friends. Almost real-time FIFA data let users also track standings and results. Beyond Facebook it was designed to be on Orkut in Brazil and Mixi in Japan. CD/CW: Clark Morgan AD: Paulo Sellitti Designer: Takashi Kawashima UX: Margo Hays
